Evermore London is a UK-based luxury candle and fragrance studio, founded in 2014 by Sarah Bell. Driven by her pursuit of a cleaner, more ethical scent experience, Sarah began experimenting with vegan waxes in her kitchen and discovered a blend that balanced sustainability with luxury.

Over the years, this humble start has blossomed into a brand built on a commitment to clean ingredients, sustainability, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Where did the name Evermore come from? What does it mean to you?

The name Evermore actually came from a Nick Cave song. I've always loved his music, it's poetic, and a little dark in places - the word, evermore, really stood out to me in one of his songs. It felt timeless and also unique.

What were those early days like - do you remember the first candle you ever made?

Oh, absolutely! I remember melting wax in my kitchen and trying to get the scent just right, it was all very trial and error in those days. I made the first candles at my kitchen table, poured by hand in little silver tins. I gave them to friends and family, and when they started asking for more, I realised there was something special there.

How has the brand changed since you first started?

It's evolved so much, but the heart of it is still the same. In the beginning, it was just me doing everything — making, packing, posting, invoicing. Now we've grown into a small team with a big production space, we've refined the design, and the scents have become more sophisticated. But we've stayed true to those core values: clean ingredients, sustainability, and craftsmanship. It's been lovely to see the brand mature over the last 10 years, whilst staying true to those values.

Was it difficult to balance being eco-friendly with creating a luxury product?

Definitely at times. Sustainability has always been a non-negotiable for me, so it meant a lot of research and testing to make sure our materials — from the wax to the packaging — met those standards and felt luxurious. But I do feel those two things now go hand in hand; there's something luxurious about knowing your candle is made from mindful ingredients.

Where do your scent ideas come from?

The elements, the stars, nature and memories. Sometimes it's a place I've visited, like a forest in winter or a beach at dusk, and sometimes it's more abstract — a mood or a feeling I want to capture. I work closely with our perfumers to bring those stories to life through scent.

Are there any fragrances that are especially close to your heart?

Yes, MOON will always be special to me, it was one of the earliest scents I created and still feels so calming and grounding.

Is there a scent you've always wanted to create but haven't (yet)?

I've been thinking about a scent inspired by a storm for a while now. Not a full blown thunderstorm, but that quiet energy that builds just before the rain hits; when everything goes still for a moment. It would be earthy and mineral, a little metallic, with soft, grounding notes underneath. More about atmosphere than weather, capturing that feeling of change in the air.

What's a good candle to start with for someone new to Evermore?

I always recommend NORTH or MOON to new customers. NORTH is an enveloping scent with top notes of black pepper and and a rich base of oud, leather, tobacco — it feels really grounding and soothing. MOON is soft and a little more sensual, with rose, saffron and violet leaf. Both make a great introduction to the range.

Can people reuse the candle jars after they're done burning? Any creative ideas?

The glass jars are designed to be reused — they clean up beautifully once the candle's finished. I'm currently using one to hold teaspoons for the endless cups of tea I drink! They also make lovely little plant pots for succulents or herbs. I love seeing how our customers repurpose them. There's something really nice about the jar taking on a new life after the candle's finished.
