Through a Glass Plate
Edward Reeves Photography
The Brighton Photo Biennial is the largest international photography festival in the UK and takes place each year across venues and public spaces in Brighton, Hove, Lewes and beyond.
One exhibition that has caught our attention the most is taking place here in our home town of Lewes. 'Stories Seen Through A Glass Plate' has been organised by Edward Reeves, who originally setup their photographic studio in Lewes in 1855 and is believed to be the oldest operating photographic studio in the world. The studio are exhibiting a unique collection of light boxes in shop windows along Lewes High Street of photographs taken at the original locations dating back over three generations.
