Desks and workspaces are statements about us, and it's been said that if you really want to get to know someone, simply take a look at his or her desk. This month we take a look to see whats on the desk of Steven Lenton, Lagom collaborator, author and illustrator.

01) Five Christmas Penguins This is my first book and has been on my desk for the last few months as I am now working on the follow up and am constantly referencing colours and layouts! The book will be available as a Sainsbury's exclusive from October. 02) Paul Frank iPod Dock I collect Paul Frank merchandise and couldn't resist this iPod dock or 'Dance Machine' as it is branded. I really love clothing and products with a strong character appeal and Paul Frank set the benchmark for fun but stylish character-based items. 03) Badges brighten up any space and I always have a selection of them on my desk. These ones feature my Stretch the Sausage dog range and some others by friend Mia Nilsson. 04) Pencils and notebooks are my essential everyday items. I love the constant sharpness of a propelling pencil which enables me to draw details on a small scale without the worry of smudging. 05) Corrie Autograph I love to be surrounded by things and images that make me happy and my collection of Coronation Street autographs always raises a smile - my collection of 40 or so of these autographs are strung across my studio wall, but this one of Mary is my favourite and stays on my desk. 06) Pencil Case I am a glutton for Etsy and I often search for sausage dog related items - I got this recently and love the design!.
